Over the course of the last century the influence of Socialism has been growing in America. During that time we have gone from being a Christian nation to what we are today, a nation of hedonistic materialists for whom God is a quaint idea long since discarded and Christianity a persecuted faith. This is an unmitigated disaster for the nation.
The Founders created a system of government that only suitable for an upright, moral, Christian people. Discard Christianity and its moral and spiritual principles and you plunge the nation in to self serving chaos, as de Toqueville foresaw. Self serving chaos can only be followed by tyranny. We are there.
The fact that America is crumbling from within is no accident. We have been pushed from without and from within. Form without, the Socialist powers waged a long campaign of cultural warfare against us, leading us to lose confidence in our most cherished institutions, and in ourselves as the New Israel so prized by early Americans.
From within we allowed ourselves to be persuaded that exchanging our God of glory for endless material things, essentially idols, would have no consequences; we all know who that salesman was. We dethroned God from our hearts and enthroned the Good Life. This too was foretold by Jesus of Nazareth. Today most Americans honor their appetites, not their Savior, and count themselves wise to do so.
George Orwell’s dystopian prophecy in ‘1984’ is running a little over thirty years late, but its hour come ’round at last, slouches towards the polls to be born. Historically, republics devolve into dictatorships, clearly we are no exception.
But the jig is not necessarily up. It appears hopeless, America, we fear, will crash and burn, and much of the world with her. For still, in these waning days when we are most tempted to yield to despair, God is with us.
Let His faithful turn to Him, plead with Him to bring His mighty Host to overthrow our enemies. Plead that the Light of His Truth pierce the dark web of the Father of Lies. Determine to offer, in union with Jesus’ atoning sacrifice our own paltry sacrifice of persecution for the sake of this nation so uniquely dedicated to Him.
Below is a prayer service you humble servant has composed in the hopes that some faithful remnant may join with me and a few others to arrest and reverse America’s rocket propelled toboggan ride to Perdition. The Word file can be downloaded here.
Restoring One Nation Under God
V. Our help is in the Name of the LORD
R. Who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 91 (each verse to be recited by alternating sides)
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame;
deliver me in your righteousness.
Turn your ear to me, come quickly to my rescue;
be my rock of refuge, a strong fortress to save me.
Since you are my rock and my fortress,
for the sake of your name lead and guide me.
Keep me free from the trap that is set for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God.
I hate those who cling to worthless idols;
as for me, I trust in the Lord.
I will be glad and rejoice in your love,
for you saw my affliction and knew the anguish of my soul.
You have not given me into the hands of the enemy
but have set my feet in a spacious place.
Be merciful to me, Lord, for I am in distress;
my eyes grow weak with sorrow, my soul and body with grief.
My life is consumed by anguish and my years by groaning;
my strength fails because of my affliction, and my bones grow weak.
Because of all my enemies, I am the utter contempt of my neighbors
and an object of dread to my closest friends—
those who see me on the street flee from me.
I am forgotten as though I were dead;
I have become like broken pottery.
For I hear many whispering, “Terror on every side!”
They conspire against me and plot to take my life.
But I trust in you, Lord;
I say, “You are my God.”
My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.
Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love.
Let me not be put to shame, Lord, for I have cried out to you;
but let the wicked be put to shame and be silent in the realm of the dead.
Let their lying lips be silenced,
for with pride and contempt they speak arrogantly against the righteous.
How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you,
that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you.
In the shelter of your presence you hide them from all human intrigues;
you keep them safe in your dwelling from accusing tongues.
Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love
when I was in a city under siege.
In my alarm I said, “I am cut off from your sight!”
Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help.
Love the Lord, all his faithful people!
The Lord preserves those who are true to him,
but the proud he pays back in full.
Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit
as it was in the beginning, is now
and ever shall be. Amen
Let us pray (together)
Soul of Christ, be my sanctification;
Body of Christ, be my salvation;
Blood of Christ, fill all my veins;
Water of Christ’s side, wash out my stains;
Passion of Christ, my comfort be;
O good Jesus, listen to me;
In Thy wounds I fain would hide;
Ne’er to be parted from Thy side;
Guard me, should the foe assail me;
Call me when my life shall fail me;
Bid me come to Thee above,
With Thy saints to sing Thy love,
World without end.
Amen.
Examination of conscience (do not rush this!)
Psalm 130 (to be recited as before)
Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;
Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive
to my cry for mercy.
If you, LORD, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.
I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the daybreak,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
from all their sins.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now
and ever shall be. Amen
Repenting of Ungodly Consents
Daniel 9 4-19
O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love
with all who love him and obey his commands, we have sinned and done wrong.
We have been wicked and have rebelled;
we have turned away from your commands and laws.
We have not listened to your servants the prophets,
who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers,
and to all the people of the land.
“Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame–
the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel,
both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us
because of our unfaithfulness to you.
O LORD, we and our kings, our princes and our fathers are covered with shame
because we have sinned against you.
The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving,
even though we have rebelled against him;
we have not obeyed the LORD our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets.
All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.
Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God,
have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you.
You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us great disaster.
Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem.
Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us,
yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth.
The LORD did not hesitate to bring the disaster upon us,
for the LORD our God is righteous in everything he does;
yet we have not obeyed him.
Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand
and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong.
O Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts,
turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill.
Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made Jerusalem
and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.
Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant.
For your sake, O Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary.
Give ear, O God, and hear;
open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name.
We do not make requests of you because we are righteous,
but because of your great mercy.
O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act!
For your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”
Let us pray (together)
We ask forgiveness for and renounce all negative inner vows that we have made with the enemy, and ask that Jesus Christ release us from these vows and from any bondage they may have held in us.We claim the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, over every aspect of our lives for our protection. Amen.
In the name of Jesus Christ we cut our hearts and spirits free from our associations with wicked persons, policies and issues. We put the Cross of Jesus Christ between ourselves and these people, policies and issues to block any negative influences that may be coming from them and to enhance only the good between us, if any. We resolve not to allow these associations with these persons, policies and issues continue. Amen.
Casting out Satan (together)
In the Holy Name of Jesus I, on behalf of myself, my family, my community and my nation, renounce you Satan! In the Holy Name of Jesus I command you, your wicked angels, archangels and principalities, to flee the strongholds you have held over myself, my family, my community and my nation and command you to remove yourself to the foot of the Cross of Jesus the LORD for Him to do with as He wills!
Infilling with the Holy Spirit (together)
Breathe into me, Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy. Move in me, Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy. Attract my heart, Holy Spirit, that I may love only what is holy. Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, that I may defend all that is holy. Protect me, Holy Spirit, that I may always be holy. Grant your holy gifts and blessed fruits not to me alone, Holy Spirit, but to my family, my community and my nation that we all may be holy.
Father, I beg that you send your Holy Angels, Archangels and Principalities to guard, guide and uphold me, my family, my community and my nation.
Prayers for protection (together)
Against Evil
Spirit of our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity, descend upon me. Please purify me, mold me, fill me with yourself, and use me. Banish all the forces of evil from me; destroy them, vanquish them so that I can be healthy and do good deeds.
Banish from me all spells, witchcraft, black magic, demonic assignments, malefice, maledictions and the evil eye; diabolic infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful; jealousy, treachery, envy; all physical, psychological, moral, spiritual and diabolical ailments; as well as all enticing spirits, deaf, dumb, blind, mute and sleeping spirits, new-age spirits, occult spirits, religious spirits, antichrist spirits, and any other spirits of death and darkness.
I command and bid all the powers who molest me—by the power of God Almighty, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior—to leave me forever, and to be consigned into the everlasting lake of fire, that they may never again touch me or any other creature in the entire world. Amen.
Against Malefice
God, our Lord, King of ages, All-powerful and Almighty, you who made everything and who transform everything simply by your will; you who changed into dew the flames of the seven-times hotter furnace and protected and saved your three holy children.
You are the doctor and physician of my soul. You are the salvation of those who turn to you. I beseech you to make powerless, banish, and drive out every diabolic power and presence; every evil influence, malefice or evil eye and all evil actions aimed against me.
Where there is envy and malice, give me an abundance of goodness, endurance, victory and charity. O Lord, you who love man, I beg you to reach out your powerful hands and your most high and mighty arms and come to my aid.
Send your angel of peace over me, to protect my body and soul. May he keep at bay and vanquish every evil power, every poison or malice invoked against me by corrupt and envious people.
Then under the protection of your authority may I sing with gratitude, “The Lord is my salvation; whom should I fear?” I will not fear evil because you are with me, my God, my strength, my powerful Lord, Lord of peace, Father of all ages. Amen.
Spiritual Canopy
Dear Lord Jesus, please forgive me for all the times I have not submitted to your will in my life. Please forgive me for all my sinful actions, making agreements with the enemy, and for believing the devil’s lies. I now submit to you as my Lord, dear Jesus. Now I break every agreement that I have made with the enemy.
Lord Jesus, please send an assignment of angels to remove and bind to the abyss all demons and their devices that had access to me because I believed their lies. I now ask you to establish a hedge of protection around me, over me and under me, and seal it with your blood, Lord Jesus Christ.
I now choose to put on the full armor of God and ask that you cleanse me and seal me, body, mind, soul and spirit, with your blood, Lord Jesus Christ. Please have your angelic army bind up and remove all demons, their devices, and all their power from within this protective hedge and have them sent to the abyss.
Please have your angels destroy all demonic, occult or witchcraft assignments directed against me. Please have your angels stand guard over me and protect me from all attacks of the enemy. I thank you for establishing an impenetrable shield of protection around me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Hymn of Praise (to be recited antiphonally as before)
We offer You our praise, O God!
We proclaim that You are the LORD!
The whole world worships You as Eternal Father!
All the angels and the heavens themselves
and the powers within them,
The Cherubim and the Seraphim,
all of them chant with voices never stilled.
Holy! Holy! Holy!
Lord God of power and might!
Heaven and earth are filled to overflowing
With the glory of Your Majesty!
The choir of the Apostles so splendid,
The assembly of the Prophets so venerable,
The white robed army of the Martyrs,
They all offer You their praise.
Throughout the whole world
your Holy Church openly professes what she believes of you.
Father, Yours is endless majesty!
Your true and only Son is worthy of adoration;
So also is Your Holy Spirit, our Advocate.
You, O Christ, are the King of Glory!
From all eternity You are the Son of God!
When You became man to set man free
You did not hesitate to have the Virgin as Your Mother.
After You had blunted the sting of death
You opened the Kinddom of Heaven for all who put their faith in You.
Now you have taken Your throne at the right hand of God
To share in the Glory of the Father.
Our faith proclaims that You are the judge
Who will return again.
So it is we beg you to come to our aid,
For we are the servants that you once purchased at the price of Your own blood.
Enroll our names
With those of your Saints in everlasting glory.
O LORD, give Your people your salvation and Your benediction
You once called us Your own inheritance.
Guide us and hold us aloft
Until we come to eternity.
Each and every day we offer You our praise;
We praise Your Name for all eternity and beyond.
But for this day, O LORD
We ask You to keep us from all evil.
Have mercy on us, LORD,
Have mercy on us!
O LORD, let our hope in You
Be the measure of Your mercy.
In You, O LORD, I have placed all my hopes.
Let those hopes not be disappointed through all eternity3
V. May the all powerful LORD, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, grant us peace in our time.
R. Amen
